The Malta Hi-Way Garage was constructed circa 1920 along with a non-extant refreshment stand, Willet's Shack. Owned by Charles Willet, the business catered to tourists traveling along the Lincoln Highway through the small town of Malta. In 1929, Willet sold the businesses to H.J. Fawcett, who managed the garage, while his wife oversaw the refreshment stand, also known as a "lunchroom." The DeKalb Daily Chronicle called the business: "A model garage and Roadside stand." By 1950, the business became known as Rhodes Diner and D-X Service. The lunchroom was demolished between 1984 and 1991. Most recently, the garage has been known as Ardnt Automotive. It is still in operation as a repair shop.
