1928 Lincoln Highway Marker

22 S. Smith Street Aurora, IL 60505
This concrete Lincoln Highway Marker is one of the historic directional signs of the transcontinental highway installed in 1928. The signs are constructed with concrete featuring painted markings, including directional arrows and the Lincoln Highway "L" logo. Each sign features a large bronze coin that depicts the profile of Abraham Lincoln. The installation of the Lincoln Highway concrete markers was completed by the Boy Scouts of America to commemorate the official dedication of the route on September 1, 1928. The marker was relocated to the existing residential property for its preservation. As this is a private residence, please keep to the public sidewalk when visiting.
