This bridge, spanning picturesque Franklin Creek, was constructed in 1958. The bridge replaced an early metal truss bridge at this location, which has been preserved and can be visited at the next Guide Map site. You can further explore the natural areas of Franklin Grove and Lee County by visiting the Franklin Creek State Natural Area. Here, Franklin Creek flows throughout the nearly 900-acre park, fed by several large natural springs and surrounded by hardwood forests, bedrock outcroppings, and a diverse variety of flora and fauna. Located within the park is also the Franklin Creek Grist Mill. Constructed in 1847, it was the largest grist mill in Lee County.
