The Chicago Heights Country Club was organized and incorporated in May 1912. The setting was fitting for a golf course comprising 60 acres of land just outside Chicago Heights' boundaries. Soon after the organization, work began on a nine-hole golf course and a clubhouse, erected for $3,000. After the success of this club, a second golf course with 18 holes was constructed on the east side of town in 1926 The Country Club was purchased by the Chicago Heights Park District in 2000. The golf courses are open to the public, welcoming visitors for a day of golf every day, with rates available for both weekdays and weekends.
