This Deri Delite has been serving soft-serve ice cream sundaes and treats since at least 1952. This is one of a chain of restaurants franchised from the W.S. Dari Delite Soft Serve Ice Cream company based in Joliet, Illinois. They were first operated as drive-in restaurants, with carhops serving customers in the comfort of their cars (sometimes in souvenir, fruit-shaped dishes). Today, the business is a walk-up window, outdoor-only, seasonal restaurant.
