Fast Pace Mufler and Brake

203 W. Lincoln Highway Chicago Heights , IL 60411
Built around 1960, Poerio’s Phillips 66 Gas Station embodies the company’s “Harlequin” or “Gull Wing” design, part of a 1955 rebranding campaign to modernize its image with sleek, eye-catching architecture. This style, developed in 1959, replaced the older cross-gabled stations common before 1950. Originally painted in the iconic red and white color scheme and marked by a bold Phillips 66 sign, the station was leased and operated by mechanic John Poerio, the son of Italian immigrants, later joined by his brother-in-law and business partner, Sam Marzo.
