This striking Art Deco-style building was constructed circa 1939 for John Olha's Tavern. John Olha was also the owner of the Olha Motor Co., formerly located at 521 Collins Street in Joliet. Promoting its location on the Lincoln Highway, the tavern and restaurant adopted the catchphrase, "Easy to find, hard to leave." The historic, defining, curved chrome-clad canopy and eye-catching brickwork further added to the business's prominence on the Lincoln Highway. The tavern remained in business until at least 1945, after which the storefront was occupied by the Raoul Lincoln Lounge. The building was then home to the Peeling Paint Store, the home of Meade Baltz brand paint, between 1964 and 1979. The company was founded in 1945 by owner and Illinois Representative Meade Baltz. In 1979, his business moved to the building at 928 Plainfield Road. For several decades, the building has been home to the Rt. 30 Laundromat.
