Lincoln Highway Gazebo - New Lenox

1801 E Lincoln Hwy New Lenox, IL 60451
The New Lenox Lincoln Highway gazebo features interpretive panels that illustrate the history of the village of New Lenox, the impetus behind the highway, and the role of women in supporting the Lincoln Highway, which helped bring the vision to fruition. Located near the gazebo is an original 1928 concrete Lincoln Highway marker, which was designated a Will County Historic Landmark in 2016. The gazebo was constructed in 2009 as part of the Interpretive Gazebo Project, funded through a National Scenic Byway Grant from the Federal Highway Administration, with support from the Village of New Lenox. The Lincoln Highway Gazebos mark the Illinois section of the highway, which is the only portion of the Lincoln Highway to be designated a National Scenic Byway in its entirety.
