Located adjacent to the historic Valley View Farm, this mural illustrates the fascinating history of the establishment of the original freestanding Lincoln Highway markers by Boy Scouts across the nation in 1928. The mural was completed in 2012 as part of a National Scenic Byway Grant from the Federal Highway Administration with support from the Village of Frankfort. The Lincoln Highway Murals mark the Illinois section of the highway, which is the only portion of the Lincoln Highway to be designated a National Scenic Byway in its entirety. The mural was created by Shaw Craft Sign Co., founded by artist Jay Allen.
