Lincoln Highway Mural - Lynwood

21460 E. Lincoln Highway Lynwood, IL 60411
The Lincoln Highway Mural in Lynwood depicts the Father of the Lincoln Highway, Carl G. Fisher, whose idea for a "coast-to-coast rock highway" inspired the Lincoln Highway as the nation’s first transcontinental route. The mural was completed in 2013 as part of a National Scenic Byway Grant from the Federal Highway Administration with support from the Village of Lynwood. The mural designates the Illinois section of the highway, the only portion of the Lincoln Highway to be designated a National Scenic Byway in its entirety. The mural was created by Shaw Craft Sign Co., founded by artist Jay Allen.
