In Mokena, the Lincoln Highway mural depicts the first garage in the community, the Cooper & Hostert Garage, formerly located at 11020 Front Street. Also illustrated is a history of roadside assistance along the Lincoln Highway. The mural was completed in 2013 as part of a National Scenic Byway Grant from the Federal Highway Administration with support from the Mokena Area Historical Society. The Lincoln Highway Murals mark the Illinois section of the highway, which is the only portion of the Lincoln Highway to be designated a National Scenic Byway in its entirety. The mural was created by Shaw Craft Sign Co., founded by artist Jay Allen.
