Completed in 2012, the Sauk Village Lincoln Highway Mural depicts the historic Kalveglage Bridge on the Sauk Trail, a former Native American route later incorporated into the Lincoln Highway through Cook and eastern Will counties. Funded by a National Scenic Byway Grant with support from Sauk Village, this mural highlights the Illinois stretch of the Lincoln Highway—the only section designated as a National Scenic Byway in its entirety. The artwork was created by Shaw Craft Sign Co., founded by artist Jay Allen.
