The Olympia Fields Country Club was chartered in 1913 to much acclaim. This success is largely attributed to the construction of the impressive Tudor Revival-style clubhouse, which was the world's largest golf clubhouse at the time of its completion in 1923. By 1926, the club had expanded to offer four 18-hole golf courses. Designed by the accomplished Chicago architect George C. Nimmons, the country club was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 for its significance in architecture, entertainment, recreation, and landscape architecture.
