The Parkway Restaurant was constructed in the 1960s, as the east side of Fourth Street was undergoing new development while Sterling continued to expand outward from the city center. Additionally, this area was tourism-oriented, featuring hotels, drive-in restaurants, and gas stations. To draw in customers, the restaurant features a Googie-style freestanding sign featuring a cartoonish arrow that invites people to the establishment. The Parkway quickly established itself as a community mainstay restaurant. Today, it remains a family-run establishment and offers a variety of diner favorites.
