The Sauk Trail Drive-In opened in 1951 under the ownership of William Bails, with a capacity to host 500 cars. It originally offered Technicolor pictures, free admission for children under 12, and free pony rides. One of the first pictures shown in 1951 was "Meet the Invisible Man" with Abbott and Costello. The drive-in closed in the early 1980s and was demolished in 1983.
