Twilight Motel

2325 Lincoln Hwy Ford Heights , IL 60411
The former Twilight Motel was constructed between 1952 and 1955, following the rezoning of the land in 1951 from agricultural to business use to accommodate the Sauk Village Truck Weight Station, located east of Torrence Avenue. This rezoning facilitated the development of this busy intersection, which was previously dominated by motels and gas stations, to serve long-haul truckers. In 1973, the property was purchased by Bereta Kitching and Donald Shaw. It has since been renamed Route 30 Motor Lodge, but it still serves travelers along the eastern end of Lincoln Highway in Illinois.
