Constructed in approximately 1950 as the Willows Motel, the motor hotel initially comprised only three small "cabins," each with two rooms, and a small management office. By 1960, the establishment had expanded to include three additional cabins and a larger, Colonial Revival style management office that also housed a coffee shop, visible in the far left of the photograph. Today, the business is known as the Sunshine Motel and welcomes visitors traveling the Lincoln Highway through Kendall County.
